Walmart has announced that it will soon sell its logistics and delivery services to other businesses. The name of the new program is Walmart GoLocal, and this is how it works: When a business receives an order from a customer, that business will alert Walmart, who will send one of its own delivery drivers to complete the delivery. Walmart is bringing previous investments to bear on this new service. The retailer said it will use self-driving vehicles and drones to make some deliveries.
Details on Walmart GoLocal are fairly sparse, though Walmart does say the service will be “competitively priced” and that it has “already established a number of contractual agreements with national and enterprise retail clients.”
