Jim Haworth is a proven Chairman and CEO with a 30-year plus background in the direction, leadership and implementation of business operations, merchandising and marketing solutions, including: strategic planning, financial restructuring, IT utilization and tactical marketing in a competitive, rapidly changing global industry. He produces results that consistently exceed profit, ROI, corporate and shareholder expectations, while mitigating risks and reducing operational costs. He is a confident leader, speaker and negotiator, with analytical and organizational expertise to clearly define and communicate company goals and direction and deliver a cohesive strategic message corporate wide as well as to stock market analysts and shareholders. He is successful in the development, implementation and management of turnaround strategy to return underperforming or distressed companies to acceptable levels of profitability, solvency, liquidity, and cash flow.
Jim is currently the President & CEO of Outdoor Cap Co., Inc. in Bentonville, AR. As the CEO, Jim leads the day-to-day business. Outdoor Cap is a privately held business focused on mostly headwear through wholesale, retail and manufacturing. OC has relationships with such great brands like Major League Baseball, Mossy Oak, Realtree, and Wrangler, just to name a few. OC also has additional divisions with JUNK Brands Company, LLC and Legendary Headwear, LLC.
Jim is a Member of the Board of Directors at Conn’s Home Plus, which is a retailer based in Houston, TX offering durable goods and services. Jim is also a Member of the Board of Directors at Western Sports Foundation. WSF supports total athlete wellness for those competing in Western Lifestyle Sports by providing resources for life. Jim is also on the Finance Committee as well as the Long-Range Planning Committee for the National Cutting Horse Association. The NCHA promotes and celebrates the cutting horse, whose origin on Western ranches allows us to support ranching and its western heritage. In addition, Jim is on the Board of Directors for Protect the Harvest. PTH is focused on protecting the farming and ranching way of life.
Jim has previously served as Chairman & CEO of Professional Bull Riders, Inc. based in Pueblo, CO; EVP/President of Retail Services of Sears Holdings Corporation based in Chicago, IL; Chairman, President & CEO of Chia Tai Enterprises Intl. LTD. CP Lotus based in Shanghai, China; Jim also spent 20 years with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. based in Bentonville, AR and held various positions with the last position as Executive Vice President & COO.
In addition to all the above, Jim also has a cutting horse and angus cattle ranch that he shares with his wife Kathy in Oklahoma. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
