Description

Matthew Bielak is an Account Executive at IW Technologies, where he works with retailers on POS hardware selection and the deployment and support decisions that follow it.

He spent nearly a decade teaching before moving into sales, and his first sales roles stayed close to that world. Bielak worked in education technology at Digital Theatre and Elevate K-12, selling into schools and districts, before bringing that B2B experience to retail at IW. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's in educational leadership and administration, both from Grand Valley State University, and came to Illinois by way of Michigan, where he taught at Taylor Preparatory High School and Dearborn Academy.

The classroom habit that carried over is the questioning. His own description of the work is that he asks a lot of questions, the good kind, and that he wants to understand what makes each business run before recommending anything. For a buyer who has sat through hardware pitches built on a spec sheet, that ordering is the difference.

A retailer calling Bielak should expect to spend the first conversation being asked about their stores rather than being told about equipment.
