The team-up has been months in the making, but it is finally here. Sephora customers can now shop for their favorite makeup products from mini Sephora shops inside Kohl’s stores. Kohl’s and Sephora first announced their partnership in December of 2020, and it is meant to replace Sephora’s partnership with JCPenney, which is nearing its end.
Though makeup as a category suffered during the worst of the pandemic, it is making a comeback. Lipstick sales, for example, grew 80% earlier this year. The times seem promising for a new bet on beauty.
Kohl’s and Sephora plan to open 200 locations this fall, and will expand into “at least 850 stores” by 2023, according to the department store’s press release.
