Collaborator - Connector - Influencer

Matt Fifer is a former Walmart executive who spent nearly 13 years leading teams in store and club operations, people development, corporate marketing, and international mergers and acquisitions.

While working in operations and people development (at headquarters), he collaborated internally to develop and support the rollout of a number of gamechanging technologies, solutions, and programs, including the company’s computer-based learning systems (for associates) and the earliest iterations of self-checkout.

Serving under 2 legendary Chief Marketing Officers (Paul Higham and Bob Connolly), Matt supported Walmart’s executive leadership team in the development and execution of their corporate communication strategies.

He also worked alongside Walmart’s merchants, supplier teams, and agency partners to actively support the launch of hundreds of new brands and services.

Matt was asked to join Walmart’s international mergers and acquisitions team, leading Seiyu’s Tokyo-based marketing department through a complete re-branding of their business, transforming the then 40 year old retail company from a traditional hi-low retailer to a model more closely resembling that of Walmart’s own EDLP.

He left Walmart in 2005 to pursue what had been a lifelong dream of full-time entrepreneurship and has spent the past 19+ years launching more than a dozen successful Bentonville-based companies.

Matt is most passionate about building things, and loves nothing more than rolling up his sleeves and working alongside leaders who are looking for new ways to optimize their businesses and grow.
