Buying Into Better: The Future of the Consumer Industry

Kasey Lobaugh is a senior leader In Deloitte’s Consumer Industry practice. Kasey currently leads Deloitte’s Future of the Consumer Industry effort and team, and serves as the Chief Futurist for the Consumer Industry. During his tenure with Deloitte, he led the development of Deloitte’s Omni-Channel & Digital Retail Market Offering. More recently, he has helped to spearhead the development of Deloitte’s predictive analytics go-to-market approach in the Consumer industry. Over the last 27 years, he has been involved in some of the industry’s largest Consumer Transformation initiatives, helping the world’s largest consumer companies set their strategy for the evolution to a next-gen business model. These initiatives have encompassed the creation of innovative customer experiences across touch-points, the application of predictive analytics to operational decision making and often include innovative use of key technologies such as ecommerce, POS, order management, mobile, social networking, content management, marketing, store operations, merchandising and pick, pack and ship fulfillment and warehouse operations. Over his career, he has served the majority of the world’s largest retailers and has significant networks across the globe within the retail industry.

Kasey focuses on large, transformation efforts that encompass setting strategy and scaling a consumer indsutry company’s people, process and system capabilities as they become next-gen merchants. He leads research efforts and is often quoted in the press and has recently been featured by Wall-Street Journal, ABC News, Reuters, CNBC, Internet Retailer, Multi-Channel Merchant, Chain Store Age and Investor’s Business Daily. Kasey launched and served as a co-chairperson for the Cross-Channel Retail Consortium. Kasey has spoken at the shopTalk, Shop.org, eTail CEO/President Retail Summit, Internet Retailer, Sterling’s Customer Connection, Lundgren Center for Retail Global Retailing Conference and the Association of Cross Channel Merchants.
